Sol-Gel is a specialized coating used primarily on aluminum and titanium to prevent corrosion and promote paint adhesion. It is sprayed onto parts as liquid that has been activated to form bonds on a molecular basis across the coating. The resulting structure is a dense, thin protective film on aerospace alloys.
